Morteratsch glacier trail

Already on the way in the Grisons, we start today in bright sunshine the tour to the ice giant "Morteratsch glacier". Very impressive and in view on the whole way, this biggest glacier in the Bernina group impresses us. The gravel path is very wide, family-friendly and children are accompanied on this easy hike by the mountain spirit Sabi (tasks booklet "Sabi's big dream"). For the older guests there are information boards about the retreat of the glacier. Various seats invite you to stay and enjoy the view of the Morteratsch glacier to the full.

It takes about 2 hours from the station "Morteratsch" to get there and back, but we are back after 3.5 hours. Allow enough time, because this unfortunately dwindling nature experience can almost not be captured enough photographically. Just now in the autumn time a dreamlike nature experience (summer too hot, because few shade places)!

For your information: The tour can already be started from Pontresina. Really very beautiful (along the river) and about plus 1 hour to calculate. However, pay attention whether the hiking trail is also accessible (with us this was partially closed).
