From the train station you leave the city in the direction of Dreibrunnen.
The path continues to Trungen and then over meadows to Bettwiesen. There the path climbs steeply to Bettwiesen Castle. From the castle you continue in the direction of Beckingen/Maugwil. On this path, with good visibility, there are magnificent views of the Alps. In Maugwil take the signposts not towards Bronschhofen but towards Uerental. Once you have reached the top, you can once again enjoy a magnificent view. Continue straight on and then turn left (signpost Wil). From here it is a leisurely walk in the direction of the old town back to the station.
